This is one of two collections –this is the first one, dating from 559 BC to 224 AD. They both feature images of coins, taken from the national museum in Tehran, which represent the history of Iran. Curated by Mahnaz Bagheri, the purpose of these photographs is to introduce the culture and ancient civilization of Iran to students in chronological order. While the collection is not comprehensive in regard to all Iranian or Persian civilizations, it is a springboard to foster continued discussion and research into the history of Iran.
